About WYCM

WYCM is owned by Christian Mix Radio, Inc., which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to broadcasting quality Christian music 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

History

WYCM 90.1FM signed on as a full-time Contemporary Christian music station in July of 2003.  It is in a real sense phase 2 of a longer-range plan to cover our region with great Christian music.  We began our ministry in 1997 as Stephen Binley, his wife Cathy, and other committed and dedicated Christians formed “Heirwaves, Inc.” for the express purpose of putting a CCM station on the air.  Within a year and half God had provided $225,000 with which we purchased WNEB 1230AM in Worcester, MA.  After a number of ups and downs and circumstances, which were far beyond our control, God allowed us to move to the FM dial as we purchased WYCM in Charlton, MA.  Recently we changed our corporate name to Christian Mix Radio, Inc.

We are a non-commercial station and are listener supported.  We rely on the generosity of our listeners as well as local churches and local businesses donating their resources to see that great Christian music remains on the air here in our area.

Statement of Music Philosophy

Christian Mix Radio, Inc. seeks to glorify God, and edify the listener through the ministry of music.  We play music from Christian artists, who, from the best information available, exhibit a consistent walk with the Lord.  We seek to play songs that are understandable in lyric content, and which almost always directly refer to one or more members of the Holy Trinity.  We also seek to avoid playing songs whose lyrics deal with any relationships which are forbidden in the Scriptures.

Vision Statement

It is our goal within the next fifteen years to see the entire New England region serviced with full-time contemporary Christian music stations and translators.  It is our belief that with the addition of these stations we will increase the quality of life and ultimately create better communities in which to live.  With the addition of high quality music and the creative communication of the gospel of Jesus Christ we believe it will make a profound impact on the six New England states.

Mission Statement

Christian Mix Radio, Inc. exists to encourage the heart of the believer, to reach the heart of the unbeliever, and to draw all hearts into praise and worship of the Lord Jesus Christ through quality contemporary Christian music.   It is with great joy and blessing that we are able to provide this ministry to our listeners and we look forward to doing so for many years to come!
